I had to make a flying visit up to the Outer Hebrides this weekend to see to family stuff. While I was there I had the very great pleasure of meeting
Archie the Goldfish and I can report that he is perky and golden, and like his naval namesake, he has a very attractive rear. In his case, a splendid swishy tail. I did try to take a picture of Archie but he was so frisky that all I could catch was a golden blur. Sadly the other fish is called Rachel, rather than Horatio ;)
I had hoped to get down to the harbour while I was at home to take some pictures of boats and seals but it was very stormy and it rained horizontally all weekend.
PS Thank you for my lovely blue spider
mylodon. He is indeed cute and he is a very appropriate gift as I am chief spider wrangler in the Anterian household and I have had my work cut out for me of late!

Date: 2011-10-31 12:00 am (UTC)Aquarium creatures can be quite a lot of company too. When I was a kid we had a salt water aquarium with a blue crab in it. My dad used to feed him meat with a pair of tongs!
We could call him, or wave the tongs and he would jump out of the water to get fed.
Archie seems to have a pristine aquarium and a nice pal. (And a very good name!)
Glad you are back. Bet you are tired. Sleep well.

Apparently so. Archie has a tendency to chase his fishy friend around the tank!
