The winners of the UK's National Historic Ships photography competition were announced last month and included this gorgeous picture by Tom Finnie of the Glenlee being towed down the River Clyde to dry dock in Greenock.

Those are astonishing. I followed the link and looked at the larger set too. There is a man in overalls who reminds me of Matthews!

Gosh you're right, that bloke does look like Matthews! The pictures are lovely aren't they? The one of the Glenlee is taken from the Erskine Bridge, a road bridge that crosses the Clyde west of Glasgow. And the ship that appears in the sign writer picture is the Waverley one of the last ocean going paddle steamers which is also berthed on the Clyde just down the road from here.
