I haven't completely fallen of the internet. Almost, but not quite. Work continues to be a stressful nightmare. I'll spare you the gory details, suffice to say I have a Badcock and a Bridport to deal with and I'm getting absolutely no support from the Admiralty. It's shit and I have no headspace for anything else.

Aaaaannnnyway...I'm off for the next few days so I shall endeavour to forget all about it in order to spend some quality time with navyboys, fangirls, family and friends. Which means I'll be spamming you with all the stuff I haven't had a chance to post for the last fortnight :}

Spam me, please.

I have been thinking of you, wondering how things were going. I assumed silence was work making you miserable, and the rest of life carrying on with usual demands. (Kids have a way, after all, of needing to be fed at regular intervals, and conveyed here and there, and need questions answered no matter how tired you get!

Glad to see you somewhat back.

Not well tbh, but I will just keep going until they are gone.

They certainly do! They can also be a very helpful when it comes to keeping things in perspective.

Nor have I fallen completely off the internet. Just realized that I haven't posted in over two weeks, and not for the same reasons (excuses?) as you.

Yeah! F*** real life! More and more I find myself wishing to be 4 or 5 years old again. Life was great... no work, no school. Just play everyday.

Hugs, snugs and cuddles gratefully received. It might also be helpful if you could send Dr Maturin over with a draught of something fortifying :}

*sends large bottle of fortifying draught appropriated from Dr Maturin*

It would be no use sending him because he will be sidetracked by strange birds, insects or plants and forget what he had been sent for. Unfortunately Goldilocks is occupied elsewhere, and himself is the only one to reign the good doctor in...

Fortifying draft gratefully accepted!

*sigh* I guess that means I will be left to the tender mercies of Dr Clive!

Hm, as long as Dr Clive's mercies are tender, why not. Btw is he a physician or a surgeon?

As far as I can make out, Dr Clive's main qualification for the job seems to be that he is a drunkard!

So he's a surgeon....

I will talk to Jack, maybe he can accompany Stephen to your doorstep...

Clearly you are familiar with the naval medical fraternity.

I'll get the coffee on :)

Reading through the NC, it is always the surgeons getting drunk and disorderly.

Stephen's already on the way to you
Good thinking about the coffee.

Hmmm....There was a small well-spoken boy with one arm at the door but no sign of the good doctor. I fear he may have got sidetracked....

Hm, that was certainly Lord Blakeney. He would not have been accompanied by a very tall monoglot Padeen? I do fear the flightless cormorants are to blame.

Why does this remind me of Tigger drinking the strengthening medicine for Roo?

Now am picturing a POB X with Milne. Oh help!

ROFL!! Jack as Pooh! Who would Stephen be? Tigger of Eyore depending on his mood perhaps? ;) I can't believe someone hasn't written that already!

PS Haven't got a Pooh icon, so have Paddington instead.

Jack would be the perfect Pooh ;D (STephen for Eyore because even if he is excited about birds and bees he does not tigger)

Have you ever seen the drawing of Jack and Stephen as Obelix and Asterix? *rofls*

FANART! What has nobody drawn this before?!

Stephen for Eyore because even if he is excited about birds and bees he does not tigger
Hmmm...y'see the problem there is that in AoS fandom book!Hornblower has to be the definitive Eyore. He is miserable about everything and perpetually goes around with a black cloud over his head. Could Stephen perhaps be Owl instead?

Have you ever seen the drawing of Jack and Stephen as Obelix and Asterix? *rofls*
Ye gods! Where? WHERE?!

Oh my word! These are extraordinary!!! Aubrix and Maturix are inspired! What talented artists you have in your fandom :D

I must show these to partner when he gets home from work. Daughter is currently obsessed with Asterix and Obelix, in fact she's sitting here "reading" Asterix and the Olympic Games right now!

I'm afraid, those wonderful artists have left fandom, and we are sadly lacking nowadays, but their artwork is still there.

Yes, Aubrix and Maturix by steampunk girl are wonderful, but so are my personal favourites, the Aubreyad birds. I smile every time I get out my coffee mug with Captain Duck and Stephen Booby on it. [livejournal.com profile] ilthit's scene from Master and Commander when Jack sees the snake and jumps on a chair is inspired. :D

Awww what a shame they have left the fandom, but you seem to have had some wonderful artists over the years :) Captain Duck and Stephen Booby are indeed inspired!
