Earlier today Sam Willis posted some pics on his blog that were taken during filming of Channel 4's Shackleton documentary. The images, which show their ship forcing its way into the pack ice, are quite something. I rather liked this one.


Willis' pictures were taken in the Denmark Strait between Greenland and Iceland, but I guess it could be the Baltic in winter ;)

Shackleton. Such a hero in our house. Many a mention: "Shackleton wouldn't have complained about having to carry that bag". "I felt like Shackleton, going round Waitrose", etc.
