Just picked this up from Amanda Vickery's twitter feed...


Tempting...very tempting indeed :}

Vickery is Professor of Early Modern History at Queen Mary University of London and is also a well known popular historian whose programmes include At Home with The Georgians and Voices from the Old Bailey. She is also currently recording a BBC Radio 4 series on the History of Masculinity that should be well worth a listen when its broadcast.

Would be absolutely awesome if she was! I remember they gave a talk about naval uniforms and masculinity when her book first came out at the NMM - I missed it however, as it was during A Levels. I was mightily miffed.

I'll be keeping a weather eye out for History of Masculinity.

I am permanently miffed about missing events at the NMM. I've never even been to the damn place! Btw have you seen how much Dressed to Kill is selling for these days? It's eye-watering!

Don't worry, recording radio problems is no problem. I just need to find somewhere to upload them now that Megaupload is defunct!

Btw I'm currently recording JB in the radio production of EM Forsters' Where Angels Fear to Tread if you want a copy. It's terribly English!

Well, it all sounds delightful. How is your back today? Did the warm sunshine help at all? We are pouring rain here today, with thunder. It panics Hazel. She shakes and pants and weeps until I worry she will have a stroke!

Back is still buggered but drugs and alcohol are doing the trick until I can get another appointment with the handsome physio ;)

Poor Hazel, it's tragic when dogs are so frightened like that. It makes you feel so helpless. I hope she survived the storm.
