I haven't even seen this film yet, but this is soooooo me on school mornings. Seriously, brushing hair like this would try the patience of a saint! :}

I love the body position of the little girl, barely tolerating the combing. Some artist got that totally right.

It's priceless isn't it? I'm afraid I frown a lot more when I'm hair brushing, she looks far too serene here!

Actually I shouldn't complain, daughter is extremely patient when it comes to hair brushing, considering how tangly it gets.

I remember that my mother combed my ears! My daughter has curls when she was small-- and I can remember drenching her head with olive oil once, because it was either that or cut the knots out.

Oh yes. I frequently get into trouble for combing daughter's ears. Happened just the other morning in fact :}

I haven't resorted to olive oil yet, but if I ever tun out of conditioner I will!

My sympathies. You have to go through exactly what my mother went through when I was a kid! (My 'elf knots' were legendary.)

Elf knots??! XD I think my one has pterodactyl nests in hers!

My younger daughter has hair exactly like this (apart from the magnificent redness, of course). You can't comb it, not without dumping a gallon of conditioner on it first.

When she gets lice is the worst.

Thank goodness for conditioner that's all I can say. We spend a fortune on the stuff! We've managed to avoid head lice so far, but I know it's only a matter of time and heaven help us then!

The plot is a bit flat, but Merida and the horse are absolutely fab.
My hair is short now. Thank God it's 'over' :)

Thankfully daughter's hair is not quite this length yet. It's just reached past her shoulders. Not sure I could cope if it was much longer!

I love your bat ;)

Do you sleep in your crown then or do you put it on in the mornings? :P I used to hate having my hair brushed by mother, she didn't even try not to pull it!

Don't be silly. I sleep in my fore and aft hat! :P

I could brush your hair next time you're up and you can compare who has the most brutal brushing style!

I haven't seen Wallander but I'm rather partial to Prince Hal Hiddles, particularly with the oxblood leather jacket ;)

I love Shakespeares history plays, and these are really good productions. They're beautifully filmed and acted. I'd definitely recommend giving them a go!

I haven't seen that production yet but it's on my list of "things I really, really want to watch one day"!

Oh, when I was a schoolgirl, I also suffered every morning. When I was sixteen,I got rid of the long hair. Whole my family was sad. But I was happy like a prisoner who got the liberty! :)

I also had long wavy hair as a kid, though not nearly as curly as this, I cut it all off when I was 15 and quickly discovered it was even more of a pain in the ass to look after short! I kept having to get it cut dammit! I gave up after a few years and grew it long again and it's been long ever since. I confess I am very lazy though :}

Hehe, I had (and still have) hair like that, probably worse in fact - waist length, thick, frizzy and always full of knots and tangles! Mornings throughout my childhood featured a lot of screeching and yelping from me, and much swearing from my mother (never a patient woman at the best of times, LOL).

I'm not sure whether to sympathise with you or your mother!!

Have you read any of the "How To Train Your Dragon" books btw? Some of them feature a small girl from the Bog Burglar tribe who is described as having "the tangliest hair in the Inner Isles." If they ever film the later books I will send my daughter for audition! XD

Sorry, I really enjoyed to read your post and your friends' comments! As one of the Asians having almost straight hair most of time I have often wondered how you Westerners with curly hair comb it. So you have the difficulties in it!! XD

Oh yes. Small children + tangly curly hair + late for the school bus = lots of difficulties! XD

I really shouldn't complain though, daughter is remarkably patient about hair brushing and she actually likes having her hair brushed once all the tugs are out!

I have bone-straight hair. My husband also has mostly straight hair. My daughter: riot of curls. No idea where they came from. I am hoping that I can figure out how to keep it happy without a lot of drama, because I'd love for her to want to have long hair. My hair is very long, so I know a lot about brushing without pulling, but her knots just hide in the curlicues, and it's only three inches right now!

Enjoy those little baby curls! Hope they last :)

I have wavy hair, but we have no idea where daughter's riot of ginger curls came from. Certainly took us both by surprise!
