I'm sitting on a train from Manchester, working on a draft of the first chapter of our book about the Indyboys. The guy sitting opposite me has just pulled a copy of Post Captain out of his bag. Think I should say hello?! ;) I am also reading Post Captain just now but I left my copy at home :}

If only I'd thought of that! Actually when I got home I discovered that it's actually HMS Surprise I'm reading, so it's probably just as well I didn't launch into a long discussion of his choice of reading material! XD

It's easy to get the early ones mixed, in any case. By this point they're nearly all one long book for me -- although "The Surgeon's Mate" and "The Reverse of the Medal" do stand out.

I am sorry that you have to commute so much. On the other hand, it is the perfect time to read/write. And how splendid that you are working on the Indy book.

I think you should say hi to the man, if the moment has not passed. I always look to see what people on the subway are reading. I have seen POB books there many times.

If I can stay awake, I find train journey's can be quite a good opportunity to write.

One of my work colleagues was actually at a meeting in New York last week. Alas lack of child care has scuppered trans Atlantic trips for me for the time being. If you can hang around for one or ten years I might manage to come and visit then!
