Landship Recruit
Nov. 4th, 2012 05:47 pmRemember the pictures of the land ship I posted recently? Well it turns out that the US Navy had one too! USS Recruit was built in Union Square, Manhattan in 1917 and was used as a recruiting centre and training ship. She also seems to have been used for dancing classes ;)

Waltzing sailors are fair enough, but I'm a little concerned about what that guy is doing with the goat... They seem to have recruited quite a menagerie in fact!
You can see some more pictures of Landship Recruit on the fabulous Retronaut site here.
