Surprise!

There was a lovely surprise waiting for me when I got home from work on Wednesday, HMS Surprise to be precise! All the way from San Diego courtesy of feroxargentea. Isn't she beautiful? :)


And as it that wasn't enough, yesterday there was also a post card from snowy Lapland from rum_inspector! Fan girls really are the best :)

In other news, we have our national conference next week and I have come down with a cold. Perfect timing, non?

Also, on Saturday, nodbear and I will be temporarily breaking off all communication for the duration of the Scotland Wales hostilities Six Nations match. And finally, if JB doesn't tweet during the Ireland France game I will be unfollowing him immediately ;)

Ah, Dear Surprise? I will be much looking forward to their quest for finding her when she was not at the museum. Ah...the dear is easily the frigate of the world.

Do you know that Pellew actually referred to the Indy as "my dear Indefatigable" in a letter to Lord Spencer when he was ordered to leave the ship? I get teary just thinking of it :}

How sweet is that! I think exceptional captains, whether fictional or RL, will always have a favourite ship to which they consider themselves married.
