Away

Apologies for being a bit incommunicado of late, just busy with work. Bleh. However it's half term school holidays now so we're off up to Stornoway for a few days tomorrow to see my "new" great nephew who was born eight months ago and who we haven't met yet. As you can see, I am a rather slack great aunt :}

We're only going up for a few days so we're flying this time, which is an untold luxury. Traveling to Stornoway by land and sea normally takes us a good twelve hours, whereas flying takes no more than two, door to door. However the flights are normally eyewateringly expensive. We looked into flying up at the end of November and it would have cost us well over £600 for the three of us. Sheesh! luckily we were able to buy much, much cheaper flights well in advance for February.

I have no idea if I'll have network access while I'm away, my niece has moved into my mother's old house temporarily, so I have high hopes she may have installed teh internets :} Failing that I'll be back next week, though whether work calms down is anyone's guess! Have a good weekend all and hope to catch up soon.

Dear katriona_s, this birthday greeting is a little early, as I am going away for a few days tomorrow and don't know if I'll have internet access, however it is no less sincere for being early! Your real birthday present, by contrast, will be a few days late as I only posted it today :}
