For all those who liked the silver ship so much, and wanted to know where she came from, here you go :) She's made by a company called Newbridge Silverware, unfortunately she's out of stock just now but, if you're really desperate to get one, you can keep an eye on their website here: Tall Ship Christmas Decoration.

Mine was a gift from daughter and MiL who spotted her in a museum here in Glasgow, she's silver and so intricate and delicate that I'm almost afraid to breathe on her :}

That is glorious. I am not surprised that your daughter had a hand in picking it out. She has a discerning eye!

It was toots that spotted it and asked MiL to buy it. It's very beautiful, but it's also stupidly expensive for an ornament. I confess if I had been there I probably wouldn't have let her buy it :} but since she did I will make sure I enjoy it!

The idea itself is lovely, and how intricate it is indeed. :) Now I imagine tiny bells, helms and anchors all over the tree. And rope-shaped chains. And small lighthouses for candles.
