Not quite time here yet-- only 10:30. They are playing vuvuzelas in the street. Hazel disapproves.
In Times Square they are packed in like herring waiting for the ball drop. They started packing in there this afternoon. It is cold tonight too. I had a friend who went one year and the man next to her peed on her leg. Once they get there they are not allowed to leave for anything!
Much better to greet the New Year with quiet thoughtfulness. (More dignified, less damp!)
I hope the vuvuzelas didn't keep you and Hazel up all night! I'm with you on greating the New Year with quiet thoughtfulness these days, though I did used to enjoy going out for the bells. We had a very quiet night last night as partner had been working. I did make sure I opened the window to let the old year out and the new year in though!
