Evening. Apologies for going completely AWOL this weekend, I had an unexpected visit from my sister and her partner. Visits from my sister have been rare as hens teeth in recent years as it's not often she's able to leave the island and travel this far south. However she and her partner have recently bought a camper van, so not only did they come down to Glasgow, they made it all the way to Cornwall and back. Which is about as far away from the Outer Hebrides as you can get in the UK! Anyway, they came and spent the whole weekend with us and we had a lovely time eating too much, bimbling around antique shops and watching silly kids' films of daughter's choosing. It was all splendid fun! How about you guys? Hope you had a nice weekend too?

How wonderful to get a family visit. Sounds like your sister is having a great time with her camper van. Sometimes the best time is, as you say, doing a lot of nothing much. And family is good for that, because you don't have to make a big effort or explain anything much.

I am am sure Navyboys would approve!

My weekend has been quiet. Went to the beach today and got btten by greenflies. It is August, after all. But the water is very warm now, so that is good.
