Master Bartholomew?!

This 19th Century British School portrait of "a lady seated with a dog on her lap" is being auctioned in Glasgow this weekend. I do believe it's Mrs Arbuthnot Abercrombie and Master Bartholomew! I wonder if there's a corresponding portrait of Lord H with Mr K on his lap? :P

Well it may be Mrs Abercrombie and Bartholomew. Mr K will not be amused to find out Lord H has been lending Bartholomew out! There will be no sitting in laps then!

I get the feeling that Mr K has just come into the room, and Bartie is looking to see if there is a lamb chop in his pocket. (I expect that the rate of midday pocket lamb chops sits at about 40%.)

You really must make the acquaintance of Mrs Abercrombie (not Arbuthnot, my mistake) and the delightful Master Bartholomew. esmerelda_t is convinced that Lord Hornblower and Mr Kennedy lived into a ripe (and cantankerous) old age, together with their long suffering house keeper, Mrs Abercrombie, and their utterly spoilt spaniel Bartholomew.
