One of my colleagues shared this beautiful song earlier today as it perfectly captures the nonsense we're putting up with at work. I'm familiar with many of Stan Rogers' songs but this one is new to me and it would bring a tear to a glass eye so it would! The final verse is particularly apt.

Rise again.

I did not know that one either. That was gorgeous. It seems the sort of song to end a concert with. You would have everyone on their feet.

I could not help imagining that they might be going to raise her with ping-pong balls. Do you know about that? It does not suit the dignity of the occasion, but apparently it works.

It's a great song isn't it? I thought you would like it :)

Raising vessels with ping-pong balls?! Well I never! Sounds a bit daft but I can imagine it would work.

Reminds me of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, a song I love.

Gosh it's a while since I've heard Gordon Lightfoot! Great song :)

I'm so glad you discovered this song! I credit it with getting me through exams (and a lot of difficult decisions). Stan Rogers is one of the singers I grew up listening to, and still quite enjoy.

Agreed, the last verse is terrific!
