Just a quick heads up that BBC Four will shortly be running a season of programmes on the theme Sea Fever - The Story of Britain and the Sea.
The season is being run in conjunction with an exhibition called Boats that Built Britain run by the National Maritime Museum and National Historic Ships. There's not a great deal of information online yet but programmes include the following:
No mention of Hornblower but surely he must appear somewhere!

The Boats That Built Britain takes a voyage through the history of British seafaring and puts some of the vessels featured in the programme through their paces.
Shanties And Sea Songs. Choirmaster Gareth Malone, travels the length and breadth of the country to discover the rich heritage of Britain's maritime songs – and the real-life stories behind them.
The Cult of Sunday Night... The Onedin Line unearths the history and anecdotes behind cult British 1970s Sunday night seafaring saga The Onedin Line.
