xkcd putting things in perspective.

It took me a while to find LJ on this map. It's down there in the south west, a small island west of the Sea of the Opinion and north of the Bay of Drama, lying between the tiny outcrops of Dreamwidth and fanfiction.net. Personally I'd have put LJ closer to the Bay of Grammar Pedantry but we can agree to differ ;)

Check out Buzz Word Bay! Thing above it is shaped like Cape Cod, going wrong way. (Looks like an arm bent at the elblow.)

Two small islands nearby are floating in snob sound.

(Marhtha's Vineyard and Nantucket I think!)

The town at the shoulder blade, of Cape Cod is Buzzards Bay. That is also the name of the water behind it.

The pilgrams landed there first, but did not stay for some reason. They moved on to Plymouth. (They named it Plimouth, poor homesick things.)

Had they stayed they might have settled Provincetown. (In the real world that would be the fingertips of Cape Cod.)I am glad they didn't.

Impressive!! You can find your way around real places from a fictinal map! Clearly you are a much better navigator than esmerelda_t ;) I will get in a frigate with you any day! But it would still be nice to have the lieutenants along anyway...

I haven't heard of Provincetown before so I looked it up on wikipedia...

"In the mid-1970s members of the gay community began moving to Provincetown. In 1978 the Provincetown Business Guild (PBG) was formed to promote gay tourism. Today more than 200 businesses belong to the PBG and Provincetown is perhaps the best-known gay summer resort on the East Coast."

Perfect place for Archie to open another of his "Shake Bars". And toss his salad... ;)
