First politics, now pirates. Well seeing the Navyboys are off in Gibraltar with [livejournal.com profile] nodbear. I fear Sir Edward would be driven to despair! Picked this up from my flist this morning and can't resist sharing it. I haven't grinned so much since hearing Matt Fishel's Football Song. Allow me to present Cosmo Jarvis and the Gay Pirate song. I think Archie would approve.

Needless to say daughter adores this song and is leaping around the house singing "Yo ho Sebastian". I'm never going to win any prizes for appropriate parenting am I?

Oh, wonderful. I am going to get clever son to put it on my ipod. It is like an article 29 theme song. Wonder how many deserved much better than they had?

Needless to say, really funny and catchy too. I think I'm a little maudlin this morning.

Hope the gay pirates cheered you up a bit this morning. Aren't they fabulous?!

Wonder how many deserved much better than they had?
Too many I fear. But I hope they had it somehow ;)

I don't think the song is available to download yet but you can pre-order it here Cosmo Jarvis. Alternatively I'm sure Clever Son can rip it for you

Ahhh this is amazing <3 The lighting in the video is great and I really want to own this song now. O.o Also it does very much remind me of Archie - the whole bit about leaving the mad captain and deserving much better than they had. Also you totally know Hornblower is totally Archie's land-hoy. I suppose the only thing I would say is I don't think pirates actually used walking the plank as a form of punishment =S But otherwise <3 this reminds me rather of The Decemberists.

Yay! You're here! Guess who the first person I thought of when I saw this was? ;)

But otherwise <3 this reminds me rather of The Decemberists.
It's does doesn't it?! Talking of which have you seen this?

Its a bit...erm...but hey Decemberists Hornblower vid!

Yay! You're here!

Aye I know, I've been terribly absent lately :(( When I am back home for the hols I might have more time for internet funtimes again. School is being a nightmare and I'd not realised how much time a lad takes up. <.<

Its a bit...erm...but hey Decemberists Hornblower vid!

Aww....I don't really like serious vids, I'm much more of a crack!vid girl, but I think I might actually quite like this because it combines two of my favourite things.

Boo for nightmare school, yay for lads!

I'd not realised how much time a lad takes up.
Aye they do that. They can be rather fun too though eh? ;)

I think I might actually quite like this because it combines two of my favourite things.
My conclusion exactly!

Huh? What's inappropriate about this?? :D

What's inappropriate about it? I might have some explaining to do if daughter goes off to nursery singing the line about gang rape! So far though she has been content to belt out Yo Ho Sebastian at the top of her voice!

Like they used say (sort of) on American Bandstand... "It's got catchy lyrics, a good beat, and you can dance to it." Anyway, I like it, even if I'm not at all into the slash aspect of HH and AK.

It's a very catchy tune isn't it?! I've been singing it all day. I fear it will have driven me to distraction by mid week!!

Anyway, I like it, even if I'm not at all into the slash aspect of HH and AK.
And I must say, very tolerant you are too of our idiosyncrasies :) Glad you enjoyed this regardless.

OK, adorable. And I can't think of anything more appropriate than teaching children that gay pirates deserve love too. ;)

Isn't it adorable? I love the way the video looks like a demented school play :D Re appropriateness, see comment to [livejournal.com profile] _likimeya ;) However, proud to say that daughter did not bat an eye lid at the snogging pirates.

Sadly they didn't do plays like that in my school. I feel I missed out.

I love it - and Sir Edward isn't that appalled actually - he thinks the tune is rather jolly and says anyway what can you expect of privateers..
And I adore the defiant way they reappear to enjoy a the mega snog at the end !
trying hard to think if "our" Indy crew has a real Sebastian
yo ho Horatio fits that tune as well...

Of course he isn't! Enlightened gentleman that he is.

It's it just brilliant?! I have no words for how much I love this.

trying hard to think if "our" Indy crew has a real Sebastian
I have a vague recollection that I did see something similar. I remember thinking "Ooh that's a fancy name!"

yo ho Horatio fits that tune as well...
HAHAHAHAHA I love it even more now :)

Yo ho horatio has got mileage I think !

AYour icon *heart * always love this sidelong Archie glance - Horatio looks serious and determined about some duty they are about to perform and Archie looks as if he is running through his mental checklist of extremely naughty things to do to and with Horatio at the first opportunity after that ..

Im also off to bed now for rather less exciting sleep :)

I'll say! I can just imagine Archie humming this casually on deck and Horatio sulking ;)

Thought you were going to bed an hour ago?!

I just have to add that Jamie Bamber played Sebastian in the radio dramatisation of Brideshead Revisited. Where he was charming, upper-class, troubled and gay. Just sayin'.

Hehe! Yes you're right! That's one of my favourite Bamber performances. I'd never made the connection with the Gay Pirates though. Help! My powers of innuendo must be diminishing ;)
