A perfectly fangirly weekend

I’m just back from a perfectly wonderful weekend with nodbear spent pouring over huge piles of Indefatigable logs and musters and heaps of letters from sundry captains, middies and their mums! Not only that, but on Saturday evening we had a celebratory dinner for nodbear and esmerelda_t’s joint birthday, an event of unparalleled fangirly extravagance, the highlight of which was esmerelda_t and I getting to meet mylodon for the first time :) nodbear had thought of everything, right down to boat shaped confetti on the table, blue and gold balloons and after dinner mints featuring our favourite Indyboys. The only thing that could have topped the evening would have been the appearance of Lord Exmouth himself or Jamie Bamber in towel and fore-and-aft hat! Other highlights of the weekend include chilled fino in the afternoon, strolling by the Thames, lots of champagne, squeeing over boaty books, dressing for dinner and lamb for Sunday lunch (shame Bartholomew couldn’t make it…) Huge thanks also to mylodon for finding Indefatigable Midshipman Henry Hart after nodbear and I had so carelessly lost him!

Yes a great weekend indeed- and for once esmerelda_t and I did not have our usual jinx on the food or the service!
but it was a really fab time - and I have enjoyed it all.

email is good in theory - but I sent a birthday presesnt to the lovely and patient enkiduts two weeks ago and volgivagant sent me some text - well andt Cassis lavoured gummi bears :D 11 days ago and so far airmail has failed both times!

I find I am with Lord H again - larks are darling and they sing - can't we intereset Barhtolomew in say magpies instead ? !
there is some cold lamb here for him though :)

Nonsense! Bartholomew is far too dignified (and lazy) to chase chickens. He gets Lord Hornblower to chase them instead ;)
