Just a little ;) He is on the penultimate book of the series and I fear he will be bereft when he finishes.

The day will be great. Friends and I will be going out for dinner...and the departmental move went more or less fine. Only a few more things to do tomorrow. :D And Thursday off on holidays

He can always start again. We all do it.

You know, I have never read any of these books?! Not because I don't want to, but because I have a nasty suspicion that if I start reading O'Brian that'll be me for the next couple of years!

I have books I have resisted for just that reason. Some books just eat your life. Sometimes it is wonderful, but it can be exhausting too. Les Miserables did that to me for at least a year. I sort of saw everything through it.

Much more fun to see through Hornblower!

I know exactly what you mean. I will read O'Brian one day and I am quite sure I will adore Jack and Stephen, but not now. Now I am quite happy with Archie, Horatio and all their historical counterparts :)
