My bus to work has been re-routed so that Brad Pitt can fight zombies in George Square.

I think it's fair to say that is one sentence I never expected to write! Zombie apocalypse I can put up with, Mr Pitt less so.

But… it's nice of him to take care of your safety, don't you think??

Meh. What do we need with Mr Pitt when we have our own locally born and bred zombie apocalypse expert [livejournal.com profile] esmerelda_t? Oh wait...she's in London. Mr Pitt it is then I guess.

Hrrrrn. Nice that World War Z is getting adapted, but a) would've thought a miniseries rather than a movie would work better with the format of the book, b) Brad Pitt? Seriously? (I think the last time his being on screen made me smile it was in "Burn After Reading".)

Sadly I am not an aficionado of zombie literature so I don't know the first thing about World War Z. Is it good?

b) Brad Pitt? Seriously?
Apparently so. My work colleagues are squeeing like bats.

It's fascinating watching them turning such an iconic Glasgow landmark as George Square into Philadelphia. I've never seen such a huge film set before! I'm also highly amused that Rabbie Burns and Walter Scott, or their statues at least, will be appearing in a zombie movie XD

I haven't actually read the book through myself, but the interesting thing about it is that it's structured as a series of first-person accounts of a zombie invasion and its aftermath as told to a roving historian. It's almost like some kind of Ken Burns or Studs Terkel documentary, except it's got the undead in it.

I don't know which is funnier - seeing an iconic part of one's hometown being used as a film location and setting for a story, or seeing one's hometown being used as a film location when the setting is somewhere else entirely. Either way, that's quite a coup for Glasgow.

Waaaay cool!

Aye, there were a couple of American tourists interviewed on the news last night they were completely bemused.

that's quite a coup for Glasgow
*nods* They're estimating that the production will bring £2million of revenue into the city.

I cant believe there's zombies in Glasgow and no one called me, all those years doing that monster PhD for nothing!

Aren't you supposed to be watching L&O UK?

Obviously the reason they didn't call you is that they don't want you to put Mr Pitt in the shade.

I am gearing myself up to it! Much like I would have to grit my teeth and decapitate zombie!Billy Connley, if I needed to.

Zombies are too good for them! Actually it was a very well written episode which makes it so much worse.

Always good to have the Admiral around in a crisis. Whether zombie apocalypse or...or... *weeps*
