She certainly did jump! She enjoyed it so much that she was literally jumping with excitement when we picked her up. I expect her to be doing headstands on the yardarm before the week is out ;)
My niece is about the same age, and very worried about going off to school for the first time. She's told us that she will refuse to go to music class (no idea why, but she can be very stubborn), but at the same time we've seen her setting up her plush toys as her class and reading them a story. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your daughter and my niece, too. :)
Awww I hope your niece gets on okay, it's such a big step for them. They can get the oddest ideas in their wee heads about what school is like. For a while my daughter thought that once you went to school you never got to go back home again. It took us a while to convince her otherwise!
They start school so horribly early these days (or is Scotland more civilised)? It was bad enough having them set off at six, when they were already as clever as clever; it must be traumatic now. I hope she has a lovely understanding teacher who can ease the transition for her.
Most kids start at about five here in Scotland. Daughter is one of the oldest in her class at five and a half but there are some really teeny ones who are almost a whole year younger. I think there's a lot to be said for them starting later, four and a half seems way too young to be going to school!
