Followed the link to the bathers collection. Everyone seems to be having a good time.

The bathing suits actually look pretty comfortable. i do notice that the men in the pictures are young and svelte. Not every man is flattered by horizontal stripes!

I also think the female suits are cute. They look more designed for paddling and sunning. Real swimming might be impeded by a floppy dress.

I should add, for anyone else following the link, that Marthas Vineyard is in Massachusetts.

We were at south Dartmouth, south of the cape, but we got up to Barnstaple to go Whale watching and up to Provincetown for the carnival.

Barnstable is ok, but Provincetown is splendid! Imagine the expression on Orlando's face that such things could be! I have not been there in years. I usually take the ferry from Falmouth. But there is something about being at the very end of the Cape...

I love living in Brooklyn-- I do. But I miss the Cape and Islands very much sometimes.

The do seem to have a penchant for horizontal stripes don't they?! But you're right, everyone does look very happy regardless :) I particularly like the 1917 American Association of Park Superintendents regulations that state:

"Men's suits needed a skirt or skirt effect, worn outside the trunks. The leg could not be shorter than 4 inches from the knee and the skirt not shorter than two inches above the bottom of the trunks."

I wonder if someone went around measuring them?!
