...to bring you the latest images from Glasgow.

These zombies are really bad drivers

Seriously, my journey to work is getting increasingly bizarre. Today I have had to navigate SWAT teams, the US Army, crashed cars, up turned trucks, explosions, fleeing crowds and Mr Pitt.

I also had to visit my solicitor today who happens to be in the office block on George Square which is masquerading as Philadelphia Court House and which happened to be under siege at the time. WTF?!

More World War Z set pics here for anyone that's interested.

Not to worry, I'll be back tomorrow night so look out for the news reports of a tiny woman going up to Brad and saying, "Step aside, Mr. Pitt, I'll take it from here" :P

Thank goodness for that! We will all rest easier knowing that the real professional is back in town.

Tiny? You'll look positively Amazonian standing beside him!

Ha! I was through there today during the SWAT teams and explosions too. Got a good view of what a huge operation the filming really is from up on the 10th floor of Glasgow Met college. Didn't have a camera with me or much time to spare today though.

Still not really convinced that some smashed American cars etc is going to make Glasgow look like anything else but Glasgow on film - guess I'll just need to watch the movie.

It's quite fascinating seeing a film set of that scale in operation but it doesn't half make nipping out for lunch a bit of an expedition! My office is a block further along George Street from where the set ends and every day there are different streets blocked off! The security guys are all very friendly and helpful though.

I suspect Glasgow will always look like Glasgow if you know the place but for most viewers I guess it'll end up looking look like any generic US city.

Look at it this way: You'll be better prepared than most of us when the real zombies strike.

That's true! Though not as well prepared as [livejournal.com profile] esmerelda_t. She's the real pro!

My son read the book years ago, until the covers wore out. He is warily intrigued that it is being made into a movie.

They film here, in Brooklyn sometimes, and it is always terribly disrupting. I guess it brings revenue into cities, but it is a pain.

And, you know, as long as they are disrupting you, Anteros, why not make an AOS story, with some actors you would like to see? (I can think of some.)

You see quite a lot of tv shoots in Glasgow but never anything on this scale, it's vast! I had to take three detours to get in to the office today. Although to be fair to the security staff, they are helpful and polite to a fault.

I KNOW!!!!! *sulks*

*recovers slightly from towel icon *

I used to be in two minds about filming in Oxford years ago - annoyed at having to go the long way round to office yet again and at the same time tempted to go watch Morse and Lewis on the case yet again ...

the latter was usually the case needless to say
re the story in Glasgow

I think it might concern some fangirls meeting at a conference in the new maritime centre to give a scholarly paper and various of their friends being present as well when a troupe of actors arrive to film a navyboy story on the Glenlee

Aaaaand here it is again :)

It's the scale of this set that's astonished me, it's huge! I can't imagine how much they must be paying to cordon off such vast areas of the city centre for so long.

*faints* ;)
